On November 5, 2025, the Ministry of Science, Technology, Information and Communication (MSIT) of Korea officially issued AnnouncementNo. 2025-56, which will force new mobile and smart devices sold in the Korean market to use USB Type-C interface for wired charging and data transmission.

On January 1st, 2026, China RoHS supporting standard GB/T 26572-2011 \"No.1 Amendment\" was officially implemented. The number of controlled substances was expanded from 6 to 10, and the supporting testing methods were updated to GB/T 39560 series standards.

On December 15th, 2025, the Committee of Member States (MSC) of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) unanimously passed at its December meeting, and n-hexane was listed as substances of very high concern (SVHC). It is worth noting that this is the first substance to be included in the candidate list of SVHC because of its neurotoxicity (rather than the traditional categories such as carcinogenicity, mutagenicity and reproductive toxicity).

On December 4, 2025, Vietnam informed the WTO of the draft of the \"National Technical Regulation on Power Batteries for Electric Motorcycles and Electric Mopeds\" (G/TBT/N/VNM/383), proposing to impose mandatory safety and performance requirements on all lead-acid, nickel-metal-hydride and lithium-ion batteries produced, assembled or imported in Vietnam. The deadline for the review of this regulation is February 2, 2026. It is expected that after implementation, it will become a \"hard threshold\" for electric motorcycle batteries to enter the Vietnamese market. Relevant export enterprises need to make early preparations for compliance work!

On December 12th, 2025, the European Union published the Toy Safety Regulation (EU) 2025/2509(TSR) in its Official Gazette (OJ). The regulation will take effect on January 1, 2026, 20 days after its promulgation, and will be implemented after August 1, 2030 (55 months). At that time, the current toy safety directive 2009/48/EC(TSD) will be abolished.

On December 16th, 2025, the European Commission issued the implementation resolution (EU) 2025/2519 to update the harmonized standards referred to in the toy safety directive (2009/48/EC), involving two toy standards, EN 71-3 and EN 71-13.

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology publicly solicited opinions on the mandatory national standard (draft for comments) of Technical Specification for Mobile Power Safety (as of December 11, 2025). This new national standard, known as \"the strictest in history\", puts forward dozens of strict technical requirements in three major areas, such as the whole machine, circuit board and battery, which will not only reshape the terminal consumer market of charging treasure, but also bring subversive impact to upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain.

Recently, Japan\'s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) issued an important notice to make major revisions to the filing system of electrical appliances. The new regulations will be officially implemented on December 25, 2025, mainly for the safety supervision of cross-border e-commerce products, requiring overseas sellers to assume more compliance responsibilities.
