On January 1st, 2026, China RoHS supporting standard GB/T 26572-2011 "No.1 Amendment" was officially implemented. The number of controlled substances was expanded from 6 to 10, and the supporting testing methods were updated to GB/T 39560 series standards. This marks the full integration of China RoHS regulations with EU RoHS regulations, and lays a transitional foundation for the implementation of mandatory national standard GB 26572-2025 on August 1, 2027.
Key points of enterprise core compliance
1. Expanding the scope of controlled substances
On the basis of the original six controlled substances, four kinds of phthalate esters were added, including:
★ BBP (butyl benzyl phthalate)
★ DBP (dibutyl phthalate)
★ DEHP (Di (2- ethyl) hexyl phthalate)
★ DIBP (diisobutyl phthalate)
2. Update of detection method standard
The corresponding detection of harmful substances should strictly follow the GB/T 39560 series standards to replace the original detection method to ensure the compliance and accuracy of the detection results.
3. Identification requirements are updated.
The Requirements for Labeling the Restricted Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products (SJ/T 11364-2024) came into effect on April 1, 2025, and will be implemented simultaneously with Amendment No.1 of GB/T 26572 at the latest on January 1, 2026.
Core requirements: the information table of hazardous substances must be adjusted from 6 items to 10 items, and conform to the labeling regulations in the new standard.
4, conformity assessment conversion requirements
For products that have completed the conformity assessment of the old version, the new regulations specify the transitional requirements: from January 1, 2026, products that have completed six conformity assessments of substances according to GB/T 26572-2011 and continue to leave the factory or import, need to complete the conversion of ten conformity assessments of hazardous substances before January 1, 2027.
Suggestions on enterprise compliance
1. Product scope investigation: comprehensively sort out the list of electronic and electrical products in production, on sale and planned to be imported, clarify the product categories that need to meet the new regulations, and establish a compliance management ledger;
2. Adaptation of detection capability: entrust a testing institution with CMA, CNAS and other qualifications to carry out the whole project detection of 10 hazardous substances according to GB/T 39560 series standards, focusing on checking whether the content of new substances meets the limit requirements;
3. Update of identification information: according to SJ/T 11364-2024 standard, complete the revision of "Information Table of Hazardous Substances" of products, and update relevant identification documents such as product packaging and instructions simultaneously;
4. Compliance cycle planning: According to the transition time node, reasonably arrange the conversion of conformity assessment to avoid affecting the normal circulation of products due to process delay; At the same time, study the requirements of GB 26572-2025 mandatory standards in advance and make long-term compliance preparations.
