On November 27th, 2023, MIC of Vietnam issued a draft notice to revise and supplement the control content of communication products. The draft content is expected to come into effect on April 1, 2024, and it will replace the current effective regulation Circular 04/2023/TT-BTTTT and the circular Circular 10/2023/TT-BTTTT issued in September this year on suspending the implementation of some technical standards such as 5G NR under extreme conditions.
The contents of the draft include:
1. Revise the application rules of QCVN in 5G base station equipment. 5G base stations with different technologies are applicable to different QCVN standards.
2. Revision of QCVN regulations applicable to radio equipment:
◆ 2G/ 3G/ 4G/ 5G base station and repeater products continue to suspend the limit test.
◆ Low power wide area network (LPWAN) radio equipment is not suitable for TRS and TRP test requirements.
◆ Digital microwave equipment is not suitable for the antenna requirements and limit test of QCVN 53:2017/BTTTT standard.
◆ The RF standard for maritime special equipment will be changed to QCVN 47:2015/BTTTT.
◆ 76 ~ 77 GHz radar equipment used for transportation will no longer require QCVN 124:2021/BTTTT standard.
◆ Wireless charging device will no longer require QCVN 55:2011/BTTT standard.
3. Four QCVN standard versions are issued, and the new standard version will be implemented on July 1, 2024, replacing the old standard version:
◆ QCVN 55:2023/BTTTT replaces QCVN 55:2021/BTTTT.
◆ QCVN 110:2023/BTTTT replaces QCVN 110:2017/BTTTT.
◆ QCVN 111:2023/BTTTT replaces QCVN 111:2017/BTTTT.
◆ QCVN 117:2023/BTTTT replaces QCVN 117:2020/BTTTT.
4. Other supplementary provisions:
◆ 5G mobile phone equipment is required to support both SA and NSA modes to ensure that it can work in all frequency bands (including N77 and N78) required by QVN 127: 2021/BTTTT and QVN 129: 2021/BTTTT standards.
◆ For QCVN 128: 2021/BTTTT standard, the performance requirements of 5G base stations mentioned in Article 2.4 are not applicable; This technical requirement does not apply to the limit test.
◆ According to the test standard of TV QCVN 63:2020/BTTTT, MIC allows importers/manufacturers to use the test report based on the built-in tuner to declare the conformity of all TV models using the tuner.
